Chocolat is fantastic. Funny, sweet, sensuous, everything. Juliette Binoche plays a nomadic woman who establishes a chocolaterie in a charming but conservative French village. As might be expected, Binoche comes across as brazen and independent minded, but on the other hand she is also vulnerable and sensitive, a truly multi-dimensional performance. There are also decent cameos from Johnny Depp and Carrie Ann Moss. Nisha and I liked this movie a lot. For a somewhat similar, but more tragic vein, go rent Butterfly.
