Upgrading the Nomad Super Scout Robots
In our lab we have three Super Scout robots from Nomadics
Technologies (lust, sloth and avarice). We are currently upgrading two
of them with a new motherboard. The third (avarice) will stay with
the old motherboard in order to keep supporting the Accurange laser.
The scouts are now running on a PEGASUS
type mother board from
FlexStar Technology with a Celeron 550Mhz cpu w/ 128 Mg of RAM, and
various (20-40) harddisk sizes. They run Fedora Core 1, the latest
stable RedHat? 10 release.
The RoboDevel s/w package has been succefully installed and runs with
the Nomadics Nclient/Ndirect library.
