Party Details

Before the party
-You must RSVP by clicking here
-Because of space and organizational limitations, only 32 people may attend the party, so RSVP quickly.
-Plan your wardrobe ahead of time.  If you don’t have anything in orange or yellow, a trip to value village may be in order.  Or find some way of turning those curtains that you’ve always hated into a cape.
What to wear
-Every player must come dressed in at least 6 articles of clothing in at least 5 different colors (not including underwear).  Additional pieces beyond the first five may repeat colours.
-No more than three articles of clothing may be of the same colour.  If both your socks and your tie are yellow, then you can’t come in a yellow belt, too.
-Articles of clothing include shirts, pants, socks, indoor shoes, ties, wigs, belts, suspenders, vests, blouses, skirts, dresses, scarves, false mustaches or really anything that anyone can wear with a clear colour.  Jewelry is probably a bad idea.
-Each article of clothing must be in one of the six traditional Rubik’s cube colours: Blue, yellow, white, green, red or orange.  Articles that are mixed, such as striped ties, or not primarily of one of the six colours are not allowed.
-Remember, when you start the party you should look like a jumbled Rubik’s cube, try to dress accordingly
-Although undergarments won’t be traded, they will be judged if visible.  It might be a good idea to wear underwear you don’t mind other people seeing and that will look good with at least one of the six colours.
-Some games will be outdoors and other people of different sizes may be wearing your clothing in odd ways.  You may not want to wear your Sunday best.
-As your clothing will be jumping from person to person throughout the night, it might be a good idea to label anything you want to be sure to recover.
-If you want to wear shoes as part of your 5 articles, please bring a separate indoor pair.
-If you stay for the blues party, a change of clothes is probably a good idea.
About the games
-The games will be played in groups of various sizes.  Depending on the game, you will compete solo, in pairs or in larger teams.
-Some games will be bilingual and some will be divided so that you are in a french or English group
-In case of a disagreement about any game rules, the host’s decision is final.
About trading clothing
-Depending on the game, either two winners will be paired or a winner and a loser will be paired to exchange an article of clothing.
-In the case of two winners, the exchanges must be agreed upon by both players.  If no agreement can be reached, no exchange will be made and the opportunity is lost.
-In the case of a winner and a loser, the articles to be exchanged will be decided upon solely by the winner.  If he/she does not desire to exchange anything than to exchange will be made.
-Exchanged articles do not have to be similar.  It is legal to trade your sock for a skirt.  Acquired articles of clothing may be worn however you wish and you can rearrange articles whenever you like.
-Depending on how well you do, you may get to make up to 10 trades throughout the evening.  However, most people will only get 2 or 3 so make good use of each one.
Winning
At the end of the evening when all games have been played and all the exchanges have been made, a celebrity judge will examine all the participants and decide who is the winner based on:
-All clothing being the same colour
-Articles of clothing being of the same shade of that colour
-Matching undergarments, if visible
-Creativity and complexity of the ensemble.  How did you deal with having 3 shirts and no pants, for example.
-Simple aesthetic value.
Specialty awards may also be given and will be decided on during the party by the host and celebrity judge.  Possible prizes of this nature might be:
-Most initially jumbled
-Most trades
-Most trades with the worst result
-Fastest at gotcha
-Most creative use of a necktie
Blues party
After the Rubik’s Cube party, Alec, Tym and Jackson are holding a blues party.  Although a separate event, you are all invited.  If you’ve never been to one, this is a late night party where people sit back and relax with blues music and blues dancing.  It’s a fun way to chill out and discuss the ridiculous Rubik’s cube party you were just at.
