Professor Jorge Angeles awarded McGill Medal

last modified 2018-06-04 11:46
Professor Angeles, CIM founding member, was awarded the McGill Medal at the Spring 2018 convocation. As the tenth recipient of this prestigious award, formerly known as the Medal for Exceptional Academic Achievement, he is recognized as a retired faculty member who led a particularly distinguished career at McGill. Prof. Angeles moved to Montreal from Mexico City in 1984, and one year later, McGill's Centre for Intelligent Machines was born. Over the years, he has made extensive contributions to the field of robotics, and a symposium in his honour was held in November 2017, celebrating his accomplishments along with Prof. Levine, another founding member of CIM. Although he has retired from teaching duties, his work is not finished, and he plans to continue his research and write textbooks based on his years of lecture notes.
