Professor Jeremy Cooperstock wins US Ignite Best App in Education (Training Tools for First Responders)

last modified 2015-05-27 16:12
Congratulations to Professor Jeremy Cooperstock and his team, Michael Sterle-Contala, Alok Sharma, and Jeff Blum for winning the Best App in Education for their submission: Augmented Reality for Improved Training of First Responders.
Firefighter and first-responder training methods have remained virtually unchanged for decades despite the emergence of new technologies. This is due in large part to the risk that a new technology may be prone to malfunction or incur a high learning curve that impedes its effective use. However, the tools being developed would co-exist with and enhance existing training methods, rather than replace them.
